The Ultimate Dune Buggy Experience

 

 

It may seem like an exaggeration, but my fascination and passion for cars, the sound of a roaring engine, struck me from a young age. Growing up as a child on the beautiful island of St. Maarten I was always drawn to exotic cars and modified bikes. I always hoped that one day I would be able to share my passion and enthusiasm with others.

I always thought of myself as fortunate to have grown up on this diverse island of St. Maarten. It is known to be the smallest land mass in the world shared by two different nations. I attended the University of St. Maarten for two years before heading off to The University of Tampa where I received my degree in International Business and Management. Once I graduated I knew it was time to return home, there is just something special about this hidden paradise, St. Maarten. The 37-square-mile island, often referred to as the Vegas of the Caribbean. St. Maarten is known for its 5-star dining, shopping, luxurious accommodation, and not to mention the friendly people and professional service.

In September 2017 the island was hit by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, this was a devasting and horrific set-back for many individuals and businesses. After losing my family home, most personal possessions, and my dearest grandmother, shortly after the disaster my perspective of life changed. I realized that the experience introduces you to new perspectives, life lessons, and the importance of gratitude, unlike shopping and acquiring material possessions. Our possessions do not last forever, but experiences and memories grow sweeter with time and are with us wherever we go. I honestly cannot remember what I got for Christmas last year, but can palpably remember the day I turned 5 years old and my mom surprised me with a visit to the bumper car arena. As we grow older one realizes that it is the experience that trumps the accumulation of material possessions.

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life," as the ancient Chinese sage Confucius once said. My passion for engines and the excitement to share the “St. Maarten Experience” is what led to this new business venture called Electric Adventures B.V. Our company was in the works for a few years. It took a little longer to work-out the kinks due to last year’s hurricane disasters, but I am happy to say it finally became a reality this Fall of 2018, with an even more robust attitude and value to deliver awesome experiences. Our stylish two-seater buggies will take you to all the hot-spots and hidden gems alike, to offer you the ultimate island adventure experience!

My motto is fill your life with adventures and experiences not material possessions. Have stories to tell not stuff to show.
